Big Sur Post 1

A few weeks ago for my brother Kyle’s birthday we decided to hike from the beautiful and rugged California Coastline in Big Sur up into the southern most sections of the Coastal Redwoods. This is possibly one of the most beautiful hikes we’ve been on. The hike is extremely diverse as you enter and exit scattered sections of Redwood groves with breathtaking ocean views throughout. The hike in is almost entirely uphill but the trail never gets too steep and is well maintained. And whenever you stop to take a breather you’re completely in awe of the beauty that encapsulates you. More posts to come when I will explain how we got a two layer birthday cake up the mountain to celebrate my brothers birthday.

This is a late post.

This was my last day of summer. I spent it hiking and rock climbing with my favorite dude. We took a motorcycle ride out to Castle Rock on Sunday. The weather was perfect and we had a lot of fun.

This was one of the most productive summers I’ve had in a long time. I did a lot of memorable things with David, which makes me happy.

Went to Pismo beach, climbed bishop’s peak, went to San Luis Obispo twice, hiked up the P at Cal Poly, celebrated my two best friend’s birthdays, went to magic mountain, Santa Monica, Venice Beach, saw Erika, went wine tasting in Livermore, went to summer slaughter, got my internship at KTVU, etc. There may be a few things I’m missing, but this makes up a lot of time I missed last year. . Although, my road trip last year up north was one of the only memorable things I did.

Now I’m working two jobs and going to school full time. Also, while trying to get my shit back to normal.

**************

My phone was stolen out of my purse Friday night at a bar (while it was still on my body). My case was also my wallet, so I lost my credit/debit/license/medical/bart cards. So I’ve been in the process of getting all that taken care of again during my first week back at SFSU.

The timing was stupid, but whoever did that bag a lot of balls. They spent a little over $200 on my cards. But they’re now deactivated and my iphone was suspended for use. Don’t fuck wid it.

David took care of me this weekend.. it sucks because I had voicemail saved from nanna and nannu and notes of things I’ve saved. That sucked. But David made it a lot easier to move forward from. It could have been worse. And everything is almost all replaced. He bought me a galaxy s5, screen protector, a new case and memory card. I’ve never had some one so willing to help me. And making sure that I’m okay. I’m incredibly grateful and lucky.

***********

Overall, my summer was so awesome and I’m looking forward getting back into the swing of things this semester.

My problem is that I think too much. I overthink everything that crosses my path, everything that has crossed my path and everything that might cross my path in the future. I overthink yesterday, today and tomorrow. It’s a habit that is slowly tearing me apart. The past keeps me up at night because I feel like I should’ve done things differently at the time, the present worries me because I feel like I’m not doing it differently right now, and ultimately the future terrifies me because I’m scared I won’t be doing things differently in the future, either. It feels like a vicious circle; something I wrote last night. (via timbllr)

It hurts.
It hurts a lot.
But I’ll keep it to myself so it doesn’t hurt anyone else
